This beautiful little karakuri doll was originally designed and built by Tanaka Hisashige in the late Edo period.



This doll actually pulls an arrow out of the fan beside him, puts it to his bow, aims, and fires at a target!

Kit includes everything you'll need to build the doll, including the bow and arrows, all the interior mechanisms, and the box on which the boy is kneeling (with shoji screens, even!)

Some tools are included (winding knob, tweezers, two screwdrivers, oil), and other things you will need to provide (ruler, clothespin, toothpick, scissors.)

Language is Japanese pictorial style. English language instructions are available below.
